Nation's Favourite Spiritual Place

Lindisfarne to Glastonbury, the Sri Ganapathi Temple to Pureland
Japanese Gardens, the United Kingdom is a country rich in sacred
sites and places of diverse spiritual significance.
This
summer, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio 4's Sunday will be hosting a nationwide quest
to find the Nation's Favourite Spiritual Place.
Travelling
the length and breadth of the country, listeners and public figures
such as Anne Widdecombe and the Chief Rabbi will nominate their
favourite sites.
Producer
Amanda Hancox says: "Most people have a favourite place which
has special meaning for them – a place which they have found
spiritually uplifting or where they have felt at one with God or
with nature.
"We
hope the shortlist will reflect the rich spiritual heritage of this
country but we're expecting a few surprises along the way –
Rabbi Lionel Blue has already nominated Euston Station as his favourite!"
A shortlist
of favourite sites will be drawn up over the next few weeks and
the top ten will be announced on Sunday 20 July. The results of
the final vote will be revealed on 10 August.
