HARDtalk with Bob Astles

Bob Astles, former associate of Idi Amin, is interviewed by Tim Sebastian on 麻豆官网首页入口 News 24's HARDtalk tonight (Wednesday 7 January).

In Uganda, Bob Astles is still remembered as one of despotic dictator Idi Amin's aides, conspicuous for his white skin.

Hundreds of thousands of people died under Amin's repressive regime in the 1970s.

Tens of thousands of Asian-Ugandans were turned out of their homes and businesses and forced to flee the country.

British-born Bob Astles claims that he was no less a victim of the despot, and should not be held accountable for the crimes of that era.

What role did he really play under one of Africa's most brutal tyrants?

He talks to Tim Sebastian on 麻豆官网首页入口 News 24's HARDtalk at 11.30pm.
