Could you be the next Graham Kendrick or Isaac Watts? Could you write the words for the next Shine Jesus Shine or Joy To The World?

On Sunday 27 June all 40 麻豆官网首页入口 local radio stations and their associated Where I Live websites across England are joining forces with 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio 2's Sunday Half Hour (Sundays 8.30-9.00pm) to discover hidden talent and a new generation of hymn and worship song writers.

The 麻豆官网首页入口 would like viewers and listeners to write the words for a new hymn or worship song.

Lyrics should be poetic, concise, imaginative, theologically strong and expressive of worship to God.

The hymn should be no more than three verses - although writers can have a chorus which is repeated after each of the three verses.

The four lucky winners will have their words put to new music composed exclusively for this competition by two of Britain's top Christian composers - Stuart Townend and Keith Getty.

The winners will have their work recorded by the 麻豆官网首页入口 and broadcast on 麻豆官网首页入口 local radio stations across England and on Sunday Half Hour on Radio 2.

Churches and other organisations will also be able to perform the new songs.

Ashley Peatfield, Editor of Religion and Ethics for 麻豆官网首页入口 English Regions, said: "There's a huge appetite for new and modern worship songs in churches.

"We know our listeners love to write poetry because they often send it to us. By matching them up with two established Christian composers we think we can come up with something quite unique and special.

"It's possible we'll uncover some real new talent by engaging with our audience in this way."
