Restoration - the final vote begins and the eighth finalist is revealed

Lines open at 10.00pm on Friday 6 August and close at 10.00pm on Sunday 8 August

Speaking from Hampton Court Palace, Griff Rhys Jones tonight (Friday 6 August) revealed that the eighth finalist and best runner-up in 麻豆官网首页入口 TWO's Restoration series is Bawdsey Transmitter Block in Suffolk.

The lines are now open for the final national vote.

The public has until Sunday night to decide which of these buildings should have its future secured with funds raised during the series 聳 including 拢2.5m set aside by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Sunday night will see the magnificent Restoration Final broadcast live on 麻豆官网首页入口 TWO at 9.00pm.

Set in front of a huge audience and against the stunning backdrop of Hampton Court Palace, Griff Rhys Jones will invite viewers, once again, to pick up their phones and vote for the architectural treasure they most want to see saved.

Griff will be joined by co-presenter Natasha Kaplinsky who anchors 麻豆官网首页入口 Breakfast News and recently won 麻豆官网首页入口 ONE's successful Strictly Come Dancing contest.

The eight buildings viewers must now choose between before voting lines close at 10.00pm on Sunday are:

The live Restoration Final will feature reviews of the finalists and we'll meet our ruin detectives, Marianne Suhr and Ptolemy Dean, in person.

Griff will talk to the tireless campaigners fighting to save their buildings and Natasha will meet their flamboyant supporters.

As well as catching up with some of last year's success stories, the programme will look at the stunning restoration process at Windsor Castle and will also talk to some of the key people involved in the struggle to preserve our past.

The votes cast in previous shows have not been carried forward so each building has started with no votes in the run up to the Final.

This is to help ensure the competition is as fair as possible to each of the eight finalists.

A minimum of 35p of every 50p call goes directly to The Restoration Fund (a registered charity).
