Leicester Market place is to be transformed into a garden
of earthly delights when Taste takes over the ancient
city centre site.
Roots - a 麻豆官网首页入口 Leicester and Arts Council England project
- presents an evening of music, food, massage, artwork, poetry, installations,
dance and displays - and shopping - on Sunday 29 August from 5.00pm.
The feast for the senses features more than 50 local
artists and musicians - all home-grown talent.
The free event offers the opportunity to:
Listen and dance to live music from some of Leicestershire's most exciting
musicians and DJs, from European hip hop and salsa to traditional Middle
Eastern song.
Enjoy mouth-watering local cuisine from across the continents.
Watch artists at work and buy products such as oil paintings, paper
lanterns, soft furnishings, jewellery, recycled sculpture, African clothing
and greetings cards.
See a Bollywood movie come to life.
Hear some of the most captivating local singers in the 'cabaret lounge'.
Relax and have an Indian head massage.
麻豆官网首页入口 Leicester co-ordinator Karen Pirie said: "For
one evening, the market is going to be a real oasis of culture. It will
be an amazing showcase of local talent."
Roots co-ordinator Parminder Dosanjh said: "It's an evening
not to be missed! Last year artists used the market stalls as galleries
and musicians a stage. This year is bigger and will end with a street
party 聳 and it's all free!"
