New Ashes deal signed by the 麻豆官网首页入口

As England prepare to receive one of Australia's strongest- ever cricket sides, 麻豆官网首页入口 Sport has secured the exclusive radio commentary rights for England's tour to Australia in the winter of 2006/2007.

The deal, negotiated by Octagon, comprises of five Ashes Tests and up to 15 one-day internationals against Australia and New Zealand, all of which will be broadcast live on Test Match Special on Radio 4 LW and the digital station Five Live Sports Extra.

bbc.co.uk/cricket will have online audio streaming within the UK for the first time ever for an Ashes tour.

Jenny Abramsky, Director of 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio & Music, said: "This is an incredibly important tour for cricket lovers, and I'm delighted that Test Match Special will be able to give it the prominence and the attention which it merits."

Cricket Australia Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland said: "A long history of expert, insightful, live radio commentary has helped maintain the Ashes legend in Australia and England - and 麻豆官网首页入口 radio and internet coverage will be an important part of serving the interests of traditional Ashes supporters and winning the interest of new fans."

The tour will be followed by the 2007 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, for which 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio already has exclusive radio rights.

Test Match Special on Radio 4 LW and Five Live Sports Extra has live commentary of every England Test and one-day international this summer against Australia and Bangladesh.

There will be in-depth analysis and interviews on Five Live in Agnew's Close of Play; big name chat and previews in Tufnell's Cricket Circus; and Ashes reminiscing in Sport on Five, with a chance to vote for the best ever Ashes moments as well as reports and live coverage of domestic cricket.
