All-star cast in Baker Street Irregulars for 麻豆官网首页入口 ONE/C麻豆官网首页入口

Jonathan Pryce and Bill Paterson head the cast of Baker Street Irregulars, a new two-part family drama for C麻豆官网首页入口 and 麻豆官网首页入口 ONE.

Baker Street Irregulars is an original Sherlock Holmes mystery, which pits Holmes and the Irregulars against one of Holmes' greatest enemies.

The drama is written by Richard Kurti and Bev Doyle (writers of Kidnapped and co-writers of Robin Hood), and made by RDF Television, part of the RDF Media Group.

Baker Street Irregulars is RDF Television's first family drama.

The rag-tag group of street kids known as the Irregulars first appeared in the Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study in Scarlet, in 1887.

This time they find themselves having to solve the mysterious disappearance of two of their own gang, while Holmes himself is accused of murder and put under house arrest.

Only by the combination of all their skills can they hope to free Holmes and the kidnap victims, solve the murders and prevent an audacious heist.

Baker Street Irregulars brings together the multi-award winning Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean) as Sherlock Holmes and Bill Paterson (Sea of Souls, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Wives and Daughters) playing his trusty companion, Dr Watson.

It also stars Anna Chancellor (Tipping the Velvet>, Four Weddings and a Funeral) as Irene Adler; Michael Maloney (Monarch of the Glen, Truly, Madly, Deeply) as Inspector Stirling, and a host of rising stars as the Baker Street Irregulars.

Baker Street Irregulars starts a five-week shoot next Monday in Dublin.

The executive producer is RDF Television's Head of Family Drama, Elaine Sperber; the director is Julian Kemp; and the producer is Andy Rowley. It is commissioned by Jon East for C麻豆官网首页入口 and will broadcast in 2007.

Elaine Sperber says: "This is an exciting new mystery adventure, with a fantastic cast, which will be welcomed by a very wide audience.

"It gives the iconic figure of Holmes a slightly more modern feel, bringing him alive to a new generation of viewers as well as his loyal fans."

RDF Television is part of the RDF Media Group, and RDF Rights hold all international and ancillary rights to Baker Street Irregulars.
