Doing for choristers what Strictly Come Dancing did for ballroom dancers, the nation's finest voices are about to belt it out – as harmoniously as possible – in Choir Wars, a brand new all-singing Saturday night knockout competition on
Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One from the team behind Strictly Come Dancing and Any Dream Will Do.

Singing in choirs is one of the nation's biggest pastimes with over 25,000 registered choirs and at least half a million members.
Ìý
Gospel, barbershop, classical, pop, a cappella, folk or rock – any group can enter the fray but it's personality, passion, power and performance that they'll need to make the Choir Wars cut.

Battling it out for the ultimate accolade of being the nation's favourite, Choir Wars is set to become the biggest talent search ever seen on British television.

The singing sensation follows a rich heritage of choral programming on the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, including Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio 3 Choir Of The Year, Songs Of Praise Junior School Choir Of The Year and Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Two's BAFTA award-winning The Choir.

But this is the first time the search for the country's finest voices is going primetime on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One.

A rigorous judging panel will ensure that only the most electrifying groups make it to the live shows, but in time-honoured tradition it's down to the viewers to decide who will become the victors of Choir Wars.

Commissioned by Elaine Bedell, Controller, Entertainment Commissioning, and Roly Keating, acting Controller of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One, the brand new series from Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Entertainment Productions will showcase the best singing groups in the UK today and witness their journey – the highs and the lows – through this spectacular Saturday night series.
