Take a note ... Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Three appoints P.A.s – a new drama series from Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Drama has commissioned P.A.s, a bold new six-part comedy drama series through Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland.

Ìý

Produced by 2am TV for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Three, P.A.s is an off–beat, fast–paced, funny, sexy and candid depiction of office life.

Ìý

It follows the fortunes of four personal assistants in the city – the secrets and lies they hold, the men they date and work for and the balance of power between them and their high–paid, hugely privileged bosses.

Ìý

Set against an emotional backdrop of friendship, ambition, sex, sexual politics, romance and filing, P.A.s brings together many of the elements which make up office life.

Ìý

An extraordinary event in the opening episode is just the starting point for a mystery that will reverberate across the series and promises to have viewers questioning what happened, who is responsible and what the dark secrets are that lurk beneath the bright lights of the city.

Ìý

Produced by 2am TV, the six hour–long episodes are created and written by Gabbie Asher (EastEnders, Only Girls, Dogma) and produced by Gillian McNeill (Casanova, Vanity Fair).

Ìý

Anne Mensah, Head of Drama for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland and Executive Producer on P.A.s, comments: "I love the fact that P.A.s does what it says on the tin but it is also more than that – it's a mystery and a love story all in one.

Ìý

"I fell for Gabbie's four heroines the minute I read the script and I believe that the audience will too – they are iconic characters with whom we can all identify. Gabbie's done a brilliant job capturing the lives of young women with irreverence, intelligence and wit."

Ìý

Gillian McNeill, 2am Films, adds: "2am TV believes passionately in supporting new writing talent. So we're thrilled that the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú has commissioned P.A.s, a funny, warm, original idea from a brand new writer."

Ìý

P.A.s is the first drama series for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Three's Controller Danny Cohen and forms part of his ambition to develop a strong supply of innovative and original drama for the channel.

Ìý

Danny Cohen says: "P.A.s is a vibrant comedy drama that has emerged from the distinctive imagination of a young writer, Gabbie Asher. It's just the kind of marriage of fresh talent and distinctiveness that I want to underpin all of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Three's programmes."

Ìý

Filming for P.A.s is expected to start in early 2008 in Scotland. The six-part series is scheduled to transmit on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Three in 2008/9. Details of casting to follow.

Ìý

P.A.s is one of an array of edgy and vibrant new dramas for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Three including Phoo Action, Being Human, The Things I Haven't Told You, Mrs In-Betweeny, Disconnected and West 10 LDN.

Ìý

P.A.s is a 2am TV production through Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Three and is commissioned by Jane Tranter, Controller, Fiction.

Ìý

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Worldwide, the commercial arm of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, has acquired global distribution rights for the series.
