Sunshine
(l-r): Steve Coogan as Bing Crossby, Dominic Senior as Joe Crosby and Lisa Millett as Bernadette Crosby

Sunshine

Lisa Millett as Bernadette Crosby

Lisa Millett has appeared in many highly successful television series, including the 麻豆官网首页入口's Drop Dead Gorgeous and Blackpool and most recently she played Jenny in ITV's Boy Meets Girl.

She also appeared as Tina Freeman in Holby Blue, as well as having made appearances on popular shows such as Heartbeat, Life On Mars, and Casualty.

She has also had feature film roles such as The Blue Tower and Mischief Night, as well as appearing on stage and on radio.

In Sunshine she plays Bernadette, wife to errant Bing and mother to eight-year-old Joe.

Speaking about the character, Lisa says: "She is the strength and backbone of the family and, for her, family is key.

"It's what drives her and I think she understands that she needs to be strong in order for that family to proceed, even if that means being harder at times than she perhaps would normally be.

"That's why, eventually, there comes a point where, in order to help Bing, she has to push him away and that, for her, is the hardest thing.

"She's been in love with him since she was five years old. They've been in love with each other since then and it's a bond that kind of transcends everything really, and I think they're soul mates.

"I think that he just makes her tick more than anybody else ever would or ever could."

Lisa has previously worked with Craig Cash in Early Doors and was delighted to work with him again.

"I love him. I would walk on hot coals for him, I really would.

"I first worked with Craig on Early Doors; when I found out I had the interview for the job I was so excited, I didn鈥檛 tell anybody.

"Then when I found out I'd got the job, I rang my dad who said meeting Craig Cash was going to change my life and it has, it really has.

"Craig is a genius, him and Phil Mealey both are. As an actress and as a human being, you couldn't ask for more, the stuff that they've given me to play; everything from giving birth to getting married, those are the things I've not experienced in my real life and it's dead exciting!

"Just the range of emotions to play, I think you'd be hard pushed to beat it, I really do.

Craig Cash and Phil Mealey had Lisa in mind when they wrote the character of Bernadette and Lisa was desperate to finally be able to read the script.

"I was badgering Craig to let me read it for ages and he said I couldn't until it was ready.

"Then, eventually when he sent me it, I read the whole thing in one sitting. I couldn't put it down, and I laughed raucously and cried profusely.

"I think I phoned him straight away in tears just mumbling and he's like 'you're incomprehensible; I don't know what you're saying!'

"I'm going 'it's brilliant, it's brilliant', I was just absolutely bowled over by it. I just couldn鈥檛 believe it, that this was perhaps something that I was going to be working on, it's just the stuff that dreams are made of really.

"It's funny because it doesn't feel like a job. You're getting paid to do all this wonderful stuff and say all these wonderful words and I still pinch myself every now and again and still catch myself thinking I can't believe that this is what we've done and this is where we are and it's just been an absolute pleasure.

"We've battled with the weather from time to time but it's just been such good fun. I've loved working with Steve. I come from a position of being a fan of his work anyway prior to this and he's just been fantastic to work with.

"Every day before I came into work I thought right I'm doing my favourite scenes tomorrow and I said that every day, they were sick of hearing it.

"Every time I used to come in I say 'ooh I'm doing my favourite scene today' and everyone goes 'well you said that yesterday' but that's the way I feel about it and it's rare that you can't wait to come into work and enjoy it."
