Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Solent on the search for a super mum

Jon Cuthill

Do you know a super mum who's at the heart of her community? Then Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Solent's Jon Cuthill wants to hear about her.

We are looking for mums across Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight to show Solent's mid-morning presenter the domestic ropes of running a busy home as part of a new feature for the show in March.

For one week, single, carefree, man-about-town Jon would join the household getting first-hand experience of being at a multi-generational family's beck and call, while also juggling a hectic life within the neighbourhood.

Jon will broadcast his show live everyday from the family home, taking on mum's numerous roles while she gets a little bit more time all to herself.

So if you think a mum you know could teach our Jon a thing or two and is a leading light in her community then we want you to get in touch.

Mum and family need to be available to play host to Jon from Monday 16 March to Friday 20 March, and happy to be heard on air during the programme, which is broadcast live between 9.30am-1.00pm.

Gearing up for his challenge Jon said: "I have enough trouble looking after myself, let alone anyone else, so this could be a steep learning curve. I promise to pay for all breakages though and won't climb on the furniture.

"I asked my mum if she'd like me back in her home for a week, I haven't heard from her since. All I know is that all mums are super so it will be a privilege to share their life for a little bit, wherever in the region I end up."

To have a chance of taking part we need mums, their families or friends to say why Jon should come and broadcast from their home, in no more than 200 words.

Entries should describe life in the household, the family, and friends who play a part, what role mum plays in the community and what is fun and quirky about life there and down their street.

You can enter at bbc.co.uk/hampshire or bbc.co.uk/dorset and click on Mr Mum, where you will also find terms and conditions for the project. You can also call 023 8063 1311 for an application form.

The closing date for applications is Friday 27 February and the chosen household will be informed week beginning Monday 2 March.
