Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Guernsey opens doors to the island

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Guernsey is opening its doors to islanders this Saturday (26 September 2009) for a special Open Day.

For anybody who has ever wondered what goes on behind-the-scenes at the Bulwer Avenue-based studios, this is the ideal opportunity to find out.

Throughout the day, a series of 30-minute free guided tours will show how Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Guernsey's radio, TV and online operations work.

Visitors will be given the opportunity to meet staff and get involved – from reading the news in front of a TV camera to being interviewed from the outside broadcast radio car.

Robert Wallace, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Guernsey's Managing Editor, said: "The whole team at Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Guernsey is really looking forward to Saturday's Open Day. We hope individuals, families and groups will take up the opportunity of paying us a visit to see what we do. Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Guernsey sets out to be at the heart of the community, and opening our doors for these special tours is just one part of that."

Booking for these free tours, which runs from 10.00am to 5.00pm, is essential. You can do this by calling 0370 901 1227.

In addition to tours of the TV, radio and online operations, there will be an opportunity to speak to an expert from Digital UK about next year's digital switchover. Refreshments will also be available.
