Pudsey goes pop for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Children in Need

Tinchy Stryder

Pudsey is set to go pop this week as some of the biggest names in the charts will be flying in to Belfast for a special one-off concert in the King's Hall in aid of this year's Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Children in Need this Friday (November 20).

Chart-toppers N-Dubz, Sugababes and Tinchy Stryder will be performing for Pudsey at the exclusive concert. Also confirmed for the concert are Ronan Keating, Camilla Kerslake, Escala, Ash, Sinead Quinn and The Saw Doctors.

Tickets, for what is being tipped as the hottest gig in town, have all been snapped up. However, viewers can tune in to the concert on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One Northern Ireland from 7.00pm.

The concert is being hosted by John Daly, Eamonn Holmes and Claire McCollum.

Car parking will be available at the King's Hall on the night on a first come, first served basis, for a donation of £3 to Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Children in Need.

John Daly said: "I am delighted to be part of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Children in Need again this year, as it's always a huge thrill to be part of a great night of live entertainment and what a fantastic line-up of artists we have performing on stage.

"We want as many people as possible to get on the phone and call in and pledge money for this year's appeal. I know that there is not as much money around at the moment but all the money raised here stays in Northern Ireland so this is a real opportunity to make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people throughout Northern Ireland, so get dialling!"

Theresa Morrissey, Director of Finance and Sales at the King's Hall Complex, said: "We are very happy to have the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Children in Need Concert back at the King's Hall Complex. This is the second year that the King's Hall has hosted the event and it brings such a wonderful atmosphere and excitement with it. It is a really worthwhile cause to be associated with and we wish everyone involved another successful year."

During this week, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio Ulster presenters will be supporting the appeal with updates on mad-cap fundraising events and how the money was spent locally to help projects across Northern Ireland during last year.

Hugo Duncan launched his on-air auction yesterday (Monday) which runs until Friday (November 20), and last year raised over £23,000 for the appeal. Up for grabs in the auction is the chance for someone to have Hugo clean their house, while the highest bidder will have the opportunity to present alongside Hugo on his popular radio show.

Hugo will also be hosting his show with guest performers live from Studio One, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Broadcasting House on Friday from 1.30-3.00pm.

Last year on the night, in Northern Ireland alone Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Children in Need raised over £700,000 for local projects. Thanks to the amazing generosity of the public across the UK, a record breaking £37.8 million was raised, of which almost £3m was used to fund 194 projects throughout Northern Ireland.

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Children in Need is on Friday (November 20) on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One Northern Ireland at 7.00pm.
