Master of the spoken medium and quintessential doyen of the crisp quip – no epithet is too flowery to pay tribute to Stuart Hall, a true legend of the spoken word who celebrates his 80th birthday on Christmas Day and is still broadcasting on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio 5 Live.

From 8.00pm on Thursday (10 December 2009), Mark Pougatch presents a special programme live from the City of Manchester Stadium as 5 Live Sport gets into the spirit of the momentous occasion.

The programme pays tribute to the veteran broadcaster and former It's A Knockout presenter who has cut a massive figure across 50 years of broadcasting.

Stuart will be the guest of honour in front of a specially-invited audience, with guests including friends and former City legends Mike Summerbee and Francis Lee and former Liverpool giant Graeme Souness.
