Shooting Stars returning to Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Two

Cult panel show Shooting Stars has been recommisioned for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Two.

Following a successful return to the channel last year after a seven-year break, the show that first burst onto our screens 15 years ago is back for another six-part series.

Hosted by Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, the show that introduced viewers to the Dove From Above, UVAVU and the legendary voice of the "club singer" will start filming in the spring.

Original team captain Ulrika-ka-ka-ka-ka Jonsson will be back as head of team A, and comedian Jack Dee returns as head of team B. Also returning as part of the Shooting Stars team is oddball burger van owner, Angelos Epithemiou.

Bob Mortimer said: "We are really looking forward to the new series. We remain determined to try and cheer Jack up, we can't wait to see what Ulrika's going to look like once the surgeon has finally finished tinkering with her and we both hope Angelos is just going to turn up on time."

Sadly, the man with the scores, George Daws, has hung up his pink baby grow and won't be returning for this series. Matt Lucas is working on a new show with David Walliams and filming schedules conflict.

Matt said: "Unfortunately, because I'm busy writing a new series for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú with David, I won't be able to be in Shooting Stars this time. It's the first time in six series that I can't be in it, and I'm obviously sad.

"I love being on the show and love working with Vic and Bob and the whole team but I just couldn't fit everything in this time, because we'll be right in the middle of rehearsals and rewrites.

"Of course I'll be watching, and I hope we can all do something together again soon."

This new series has been commissioned by Janice Hadlow, Controller of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Two. The executive producer for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú is Katie Taylor.

Katie added: "We can't wait for the screens of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Two to be lit up again with the madcappery of Vic and Bob and the Shooting Stars family."

Shooting Stars was one of TV's first celebrity panel shows and was piloted on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Two in December 1993. It went on to run for five series, ending in December 2002, and became a multi-award-winning, worldwide hit.

Shooting Stars (6 x 30-minutes) is a Pett Productions production for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Two. The series is written by Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. The producer is Lisa Clark for Pett Productions and the executive producer is Katie Taylor for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú.
