Andy Brereton, currently a development executive at talkbackThames, is to join the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú's In-house Entertainment department as executive producer, comedy entertainment development, Katie Taylor, Head of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Entertainment & Events, announced today.

Having started his career in the industry as a Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú trainee within the Light Entertainment department, Andrew joined talkbackThames in 2005 where he either developed, devised and/or series-produced various entertainment formats including The King Is Dead for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Three and Take Me Out for ITV.

Prior to this he worked as a development producer, an executive producer and a producer director at 12 Yard working on many entertainment shows including In It To Win It (Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One), Coach Trip Series 1 and 2 (Channel 4) and Eggheads (Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Two) to name but a few.

Andy will be working closely with Sarah Edwards, Head of Format Development, with a particular focus on new comedy entertainment formats – an area Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú in-house entertainment is looking to grow.

I cannot wait to get started in creating some new, distinct and exciting comedy entertainment formats for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú."

Andrew joins on 7 June.
