Isabelle Huppert to receive Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Four World Cinema Achievement Award 2011

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Four is proud to announce that acclaimed actor Isabelle Huppert is to be the recipient of the World Cinema Achievement Award at the eighth Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Four World Cinema Awards, celebrating the best of international film-making and highlighting the channel's commitment to international cinema.

A BAFTA winner and BFI Fellow, she is famous for fearlessly embracing challenging roles – most notably in The Piano Teacher. Such is the regard in which she is held, Huppert has worked with numerous great directors such as Chabrol, Godard, Haneke and Tavernier.

Mark Bell, Commissioning Editor, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Arts, says: "It is a privilege to welcome the extraordinary Isabelle Huppert to this year's awards. She has delivered outstanding performances through her long career, and we are honoured that she has accepted this year's Achievement Award."

Huppert will receive her award at a special Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Four television ceremony, presented by Jonathan Ross on Tuesday 15 November 2011 at the BFI Southbank in London, to be aired on Sunday 20 November 2011.

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Four will also showcase Isabelle Huppert's talents by broadcasting her film White Material immediately after the World Cinema Awards in November.

The World Cinema Awards is a Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland Arts production for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Vision, produced by Allan Campbell, executive produced by Andrea Miller and commissioned by Arts Commissioning Editor Mark Bell for and on behalf of Richard Klein, Controller of Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Four.
