Eligibility

  1. Entry is open to all residents of the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man aged 18 or over, except 麻豆官网首页入口 employees or those of its affiliates and their close relatives or any person connected to the competition. Confirmation of identity and eligibility may be requested, as well as age, where a minimum age has been expressed as a requirement of the prize or any other element of the competition.

How to enter

Registration

  1. Pop Goes the Idol will run weekly during Afternoons on 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Scotland (except when editorial requirements lead to a change in schedule or a change in programme content).

  1. If you would like to take part in the on-air quiz, please email your name and phone number to radioscotafternoons@bbc.co.uk. Registration will be open on Thursdays until midday Tuesday each week as announced on-air. Registration by text or Whatsapp is not eligible and will be disqualified. Every eligible contestant who registers their interest will be added to the pool of entrants.

  1. One contestant will be chosen to take part in each week’s edition of Pop Goes the Idol using an independent randomised draw system and contacted by telephone off-air by Wednesday midday. Each competition will be broadcast live. If a selected contestant is unavailable at the time the competition is to be broadcast, their participation will end and another contestant will be selected to take part in the on-air quiz.

  1. We will only accept one registration entry per person every 28 days. Previous winners of the competition are not eligible to enter again. Subsequent entries by the same person on the same day will be disregarded. If you do not hear from us or we have not been able to get in touch with you after reasonable attempts, you have been unsuccessful in reaching the qualifying stage and may try again. All registration entries will be kept in a pool of potential on-air contestants for 28 days. If you have not been successful in becoming an on-air contestant at the qualifying stage, you can apply again only after 28 days from entering.

On-Air Quiz

  1. When registration closes each week and eligibility has been confirmed by the 麻豆官网首页入口, one contestant will be selected from the pool using an independent randomised draw system and contacted by telephone off-air. If the contestant does not pick up the phone after reasonable attempts or the shortlisted contestant is rude or abusive, the 麻豆官网首页入口 reserves the right to disqualify the contestant and contact the next eligible randomly selected entrant.

  1. The selected contestant will be called by the production team to go head to head with host Michelle McManus in a pop quiz. In the event of a tie, a tie-break question with a numerical element will be asked and the closest answer will win.

  1. The phone number from the registration process must be the entrant’s phone. The contestant must be entering on their own behalf. The 麻豆官网首页入口 reserves the right to disqualify any contestant who did not register using their own phone or on their own behalf; this may mean that another contestant from all the entries is chosen.

Prize

  1. The prize for each winner of the competition will be a Pop Goes the Idol mug.

  1. The prize is for the winner’s personal enjoyment only and cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances. The winner cannot copy, reproduce or distribute the prize or copies of it. Any programme names, branding or logos on or associated with the prize cannot be used or reproduced by the winner in any way.

  1. The winner shall not do anything with the prize that might bring the 麻豆官网首页入口 in to disrepute.

  1. There is no cash alternative, and the prize cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances.
