Information about registering as a donor
NHS Blood and Transplant is a joint England and Wales Special Health Authority. Its remit includes the provision of a reliable, efficient supply of blood and associated services to the NHS in England and North Wales. It is also the organ donor organisation for the whole of the UK and is responsible for matching and allocating donated organs.

The Human Tissue Authority aims to maintain public and professional confidence by ensuring that human tissue is used safely and ethically, and with proper consent. It regulates organisations that remove, store and use human tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and display in public. It also gives approval for organ and bone marrow donations from living people, and provides information and assesses all living organ donations.
