Gavin and Stacey stars Mathew Horne and Joanna Page reunite for Christmas on 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Wales

10 December 2020

We asked Mathew Horne and Joanna Page to share some of their favourite things about Christmas...

What was your most memorable Christmas?

Joanna: My most memorable Christmas was when I got a pogo stick, it was amazing! I’d been bouncing on it all day and my uncle Anthony decided it was a good idea to bounce on it himself. I think he’d had a couple to drink by then! He started bouncing on it and the thing quite literally shot up through his hands, ripped and tore through his fingers, blood went everywhere! Thank goodness his wife was pregnant so she could drive him straight to A&E. He was gone for the rest of Christmas Day and he had stitches and everything. That is a Christmas Day which really sticks out for me!

Tell us your best Christmas cracker joke

Mat: What do you call Rudolph with just his red nose and his mouth? No-eye deer!

What is your Christmas Day routine?

Jo: I’m normally up by 3-4am in the morning opening presents, actually before opening presents we get on the Bucks Fizz and I’m on the Bucks Fizz until it runs out! I’m opening presents until I get a bit light headed then we need to eat something. Food then takes over, eat absolutely loads and loads of food then just sleep. That’s my routine.

Mat: In the Horne household we get up, as I’ve got older that’s at normal time – 8am. Pâté on toast, I don’t know why, that’s just the tradition. Open presents, go to the local pub for half a Guinness, home, turkey dinner, nap, watch Casablanca, get up, drink again and then go back to sleep!

Best Christmas film?

Jo: Nightmare before Christmas
Mat: Home Alone

Best Christmas Song?

Jo: Wizzard – I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday
Mat: Wham! – Last Christmas

Favourite part of Christmas dinner?

Jo: Sprouts!
Mat: Sprouts for me too!
