Creating 1950s England is a challengeGeorgina Lowe, producer
On selecting the locations, producer Georgina Lowe said: "Creating 1950s England is a challenge and more so because we had such an enormous number of locations to find for our series.
"We certainly racked up a few miles on this production – filming not only in London but Essex, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Kent, Hertfordshire and Norfolk!
"We had such varied locations from period trains at Didcot Railway Centre and Sheringham, to large country houses like Englefield House and scary, derelict, industrial wastelands by the Thames at night
