If we broadcast your contribution, this may include the your contribution being used within the programme (including being available online and/or on demand), and this may include the programme and/or your contribution being available shared across Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú platforms including the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú social media channels Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or Youtube. Your contribution may also be used again by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú in a for future broadcasts. 

The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú will collect your personal data for the purposes of producing and broadcasting ‘Pick of the World’. 

The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú production team will collect your personal data via an online platform used by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú.    

We hope to use and share your contribution, but we can’t guarantee it.  

What personal information will the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú collect and how we will use it?

You must be 18 and over to contribute to ‘Pick of the World’. The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú will collect and process the following personal data about you:

• Your text or recorded comment which contains your opinion(s) about the show
• Your name
• Your email address
• Your location (city and/or county level)
• Confirmation your over 18

Should you opt-in to get more involved in ‘Pick of the World’, we will keep your information to enable us to contact you and for the purpose of producing and broadcasting ‘Pick of the World’

Who is the Data Controller?

The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú is the “data controller” of the personal data we process for ‘Pick of the World ’of your personal data. This means that the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú decides what your personal data is used for, and the ways in which it is processed.

If you’ve opted in we’ll contact you about other opportunities to get involved with ‘Pick of the World’, the lawful basis for this processing is called 'consent'. We can do this because you have given us permission to do so by opting into this via our online web form.

Retaining your personal data

The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú will retain your personal data for 90 days from upload, after which it will be deleted.

If your contribution is broadcast, it will be retained and archived in perpetuity by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú. 

If your contribution is featured on our social media channels, please refer to that channels privacy policy for more information on how your data is kept.

If you’ve opted-in to get more involved with ‘Pick of the World’ we’ll keep your contact information for 5 years, after which it will be deleted.

The personal data collected will be stored within the UK and EEA. 

Do we share your personal data with Third Parties?

The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú works with our approved third-party providers who help us to provide some of our services. These data processors only use your personal data on behalf of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú and not independently of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú. We currently use third-party data storage providers to store the data collected through the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú online platform.
