Lilian marks her territory.
Lilian's surprised when she bumps into Brenda rifling through her cutlery drawers for a corkscrew, and suspicious when she discovers it's because she and Matt are wine tasting ready for a developers' soir茅e next month. Intrigued, Lilian sneaks up the office stairs to listen in and is embarrassed when Matt whips open the door. Lilian's nose is further put out of joint when Matt says one of Brenda's roles will be to add a bit of glamour to functions.
There's concern at Brookfield when one of the herd gets sick. David thinks the cow is suffering from summer mastitis - but, in the current climate, thinks it wise to get another opinion from Alistair. Thankfully David is right, and the cow is fine.
It's Shula's birthday and Elizabeth drops round early with some Lower Loxley wine ready for the evening's meal. Elizabeth looks forward to their first commercial grape harvest in the autumn and hopes there'll be enough pickers, as this year they hope to have twice the crop. Brian and Ruairi drop by with a present. After Brian goes Shula comments on how tired he's looking. David arrives late to Shula's party - but when he gets there, he tells Ruth she's looking absolutely stunning - and he's glad he's the one taking her home tonight.
