Robert Fisk

Michael Berkeley meets journalist Robert Fisk, whose musical choices include Britten's War Requiem, Shostakovich's Leningrad Symphony as well as concertos by Handel and Brahms.

Michael Berkeley meets journalist Robert Fisk, who has reported from many conflict zones over the past 30 years, particularly in the Middle East. His reporting is always impassioned and often very disturbing, and he is not afraid to criticise both Western and Middle Eastern governments. War permeates his musical choices, which include Britten's War Requiem, Shostakovich's Leningrad Symphony, a piece by a British composer killed in the First World War and the theme music from the film Schindler's List as well as concertos by Handel and Brahms.
