The Investigation - The Private Homecare Scandal

Care for Scotland's elderly and vulnerable is being auctioned off by councils leading to a crisis in the industry. Mark Daly investigates the shocking consequences; Graham Stewart takes your calls.

麻豆官网首页入口 Scotland's investigations correspondent Mark Daly reveals the shocking state of homecare in Scotland.

More than 70,000 elderly and vulnerable people across Scotland receive care in the home, with almost a third of these services delivered by the private sector. But are the companies putting profit before people?

Mark Daly uncovers serious concerns about two of the country's largest private homecare companies: Domiciliary Care and HRM Homecare. Between them they provide almost 15,000 hours of care per week to the most vulnerable sections of Scottish society. But evidence has been found of poorly-trained staff, carers not turning up and companies falsely charging local authorities for work that's not being done. Ex-workers have accused them of putting profits before people's welfare. Both companies denied the allegations.

Following The Investigation, Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
