Should the banks be made to reduce their interest rates?

Interest rates may be expected to come down, so should the banks be forced to follow? asks Graham Stewart. Plus: Should it be easier for people to make alterations to their homes?

Interest rates are expected to come down today but most banks and building societies are unlikely to pass that rate decrease on to us in full in the form of cheaper mortgages or loans. Is it time to get tough with the banks, or did cheap credit get us into this mess in the first place?

Plus: Should it be easier for people to make alterations to their homes?

The Scottish Government wants to cut red tape and make it easier for houses to be altered and extended without the need for council approvals, but is that a good thing? Has your street been blighted by ugly or even dangerous DIY developments? And is this simply a 'cowboys charter' for dodgy building works?

Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
