How do we tackle Scotland's addiction to booze?

A spending watchdog says drug and alcohol abuse is costing nearly 拢5bn a year. Graham Stewart hears your solutions.

Drug and alcohol abuse is costing the Scottish economy nearly 拢5bn a year, according to the spending watchdog Audit Scotland. Yet, despite there being three times as many deaths from alcohol than drugs, we're spending three times LESS on the booze problem.

So do we need to treat alcoholism more seriously? How difficult have you found it to get help? And, while our politicians bicker over how to prevent the problem in the first place, what would you do about it? Many options have been mooted, such as minimum pricing, age restrictions and better enforcement of the existing laws.

Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
