Nigel Ogden presents a programme of popular organ recordings with entertaining pieces from the organ world.
Back in June this year we celebrated a very special milestone in the life of The Organist Entertains, namely its 40th birthday, and our special anniversary concert from Blackpool's Tower Ballroom was a great success.
As we approach the end of the programme's 40th year, we thought it might be fun to indulge in a spot of nostalgia by hearing music from all the artists who played on that very first edition of the programme in 1969. These are not necessarily the actual tracks which were used, of course, because in those days most of the music played was recorded specifically for the programme and hardly any of those original tapes survive. So we'll be hearing from Gerald Shaw at the Odeon Leicester Square, Jackie Brown at the Granada Tooting, and from one time Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Theatre Organist Reginald Foort, amongst others.
