Graham and Helen Read
Graham and Helen Read are keen to move to the north Cornish coast. Jules Hudson shows them how far their budget could go if they considered buying an empty property.
There are nearly a million properties lying empty in the UK just waiting for someone to come along to make them homes again. Jules Hudson reveals the great potential vacant places for sale can offer buyers in terms of budget and lifestyle, while the work of the nation's Empty Property Officers explores what's being done to get the thousands of houses that lie abandoned and neglected across the country back into use. And we hear from the people who've rescued wrecks and transformed them into beautiful homes again.
Graham and Helen Read moved into their farm house property in Truro 22 years ago, but now they're keen to move to the north Cornish coast and take on a new challenge. They want open plan living close to the beach, and presenter Jules Hudson thinks if they consider a vacant place that needs work, their budget of 600 thousand pounds could go far.
