Jake Humphrey hosts coverage of qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix. The glitz and glamour of Monte Carlo provides the setting as the drivers negotiate the tight turns of the famous street circuit in an attempt to land the all-important pole position for Sunday.
Jenson Button topped qualifying last year, going on to win the race itself, one of six victories the Briton notched up on his way to the Formula 1 title. Button will be aiming for a similar result this season although his rivals include Michael Schumacher, who will be looking for a record-equalling sixth victory in the race. However, Monaco has also been the scene of controversy for the German, who was stripped of pole position in 2006 after stewards ruled that he deliberately stopped on the track after running wide, preventing rivals from setting a faster qualifying time.
