Great Britain's team captain Jessica Ennis is expected to be one of the newly crowned champions as she finishes two days of heptathlon competition with the javelin and 800m. Welshman Dai Greene is another title contender in the men's 400m hurdles, having entered the championships as the summer's most consistent performer, while Michael Rimmer and Mo Farah are medal prospects in the 800m and 5000m respectively.
