The npower Football League has an early start as Cardiff City and Millwall meet in a high noon encounter. Cardiff are one of the frontrunners this season and with their strike power up front will be after an automatic promotion spot. Millwall, though, have adapted very well to life in the Championship having been promoted in May, and will provide stiff opposition for Cardiff.
Elsewhere, George Burley returns to his former club as he takes his Crystal Palace side to Derby County, while the pride of Yorkshire is on the line as Leeds take on Sheffield United.
