Traditional music arranged by leading composers and played by the best bands in the world feature as Frank Renton presents a programme celebrating some of the most enduring tunes in music.
Tonight sees the launch of The Radio 2 Young Brass Soloist Award which will end up with 1 talented player being offered two unique performing and broadcasting opportunities in 2011. Frank Renton will also present traditional music arranged by leading composers of several era's and played by the best bands in the world . The programme will feature some of the most enduring tunes in music arranged for the band. Featuring Roll Jordan Roll played by the brilliant American trombone group Spiritual to the Bone, Howard Snells modernistic version of Greensleeves, a Norwegian Folk tune beautifly realised by the Eikhanger Bjorsvik Band and Dance to thi' Daddy arranged by Darrol Barry and played by The Grimethorpe Colliery Band
