Rose Tremain's novels have always surprised and engaged her readers. Her subjects are often varied and cover both contemporary and historical times, but the themes remain as she explores dark areas such as isolation, death and loss. Razia Iqbal asks her about her latest novel, Trespass, which was longlisted for the Booker Prize in 2010, as well as the winner of the 2008 Orange Prize, The Road Home.
