Bianca tells Carol and Whitney she set Connor up. In the Arches, Connor’s tries to persuade Phil it’s not his fault, he didn’t dump the jewellery. Phil’s about to turn violent when Carol storms in and threatens to call the police.

Despite Bianca making her promise not to go near him, Whitney still likes Connor and texts him. Carol takes Connor back to her flat to clean him up. He insists he was only with Whitney to make Carol jealous. Carol and Connor have a drink, Carol offers Connor a bed for a couple of nights. Connor kisses Carol, she doesn’t pull away and it quickly becomes passionate.

Jean’s distant and becomes agitated when she spots an unopened present for Lily under Kat’s Christmas tree. Ronnie visits Kat. Jean’s awkward around Ronnie, but Ronnie doesn’t want to hold any grudges. Pat apologises to Jean for believing Stacey stabbed Janine. Later, Kat finds Jean lying in the bath, completely underwater. She pulls Jean out of the water and hugs her tightly.

Ricky finds Janine, who’s slowly suffocating. He summons Pat to the hospital. Janine tells Pat that Ryan pulled out her tube. Pat presumes she’s lying, and forces her to admit Stacey didn’t stab her, she did it herself. Pat and Ricky leave the hospital in disgust.

Whitney’s thrilled when she discovers Ryan didn’t leave with Stacey. Ryan gives Whitney his wedding ring. Ryan admits to Pat he did pull out Janine’s tube. Pat thinks he and Janine as bad as each other – it has to stop now.

Dot enjoys her party. The house is full of noise – people playing charades, singing and laughing. But all too soon the guests leave and Kim and Patrick decide they’re going to stay at Ian’s with Denise. Once again, Dot’s left with only Jim for company.
