Tahir is a young man who has been blind since he was 15. A rare disease caused him to lose his sight and become very overweight. As a result, Tahir withdrew from his family. One day a retired policeman called Vidar appeared in Tahir's life. The helpful neighbour offered to take Tahir out on a tandem bike. Since that day, they have not looked back. Now they want to complete one of the world's toughest bike race, 'Den store styrkeproven' (The Great Challenge). The race runs from Trondheim to Oslo, 540 km across one of Norway's major mountains. An almost impossible task for most people, but Vidar has promised to make Tahirs's dream to complete it come true - even when he is diagnosed with cancer a year before the race. Vidar and Tahir refuse to give up and are determined to finish the race at all costs.
