Jamal Fakhro, Bahrain Shura Council's Deputy President & Saeed Shehabi, Head of the Bahrain Freedom Movement

The conflict in Bahrain has intensified. Stephen Sackur speaks to Jamal Fakhro, vice chairman of Bahrain's Shura Council, and Saeed Shehabi, leader of a Bahraini opposition group.

If Bahrain's royal family believed the presence of a thousand Saudi troops in their tiny nation would put an end to political protest they were sorely mistaken. Instead the conflict between the ruling Khalifa dynasty and Bahrainis demanding reform has intensified. There have been renewed violent clashes, and the government has imposed a curfew and a state of emergency. HARDtalk's Stephen Sackur is joined by two guests - in Bahrain, Jamal Fakhro, vice chairman of Bahrain's Shura Council, and in the studio, Saeed Shehabi, leader of a Bahraini opposition group in London. The US has called for restraint and dialogue. Is it too late for that?
