Britain's swimmers are going for gold at the Shanghai Sports Centre on day three of the swimming finals at the World Aquatics Championships. First up, Gemma Spofforth defends the 100m backstroke title she won in world record time in 2009 and could face competition from team-mate Lizzie Simmonds, the 200m European champion. The men's hopes rest with Commonwealth 100m backstroke champion Liam Tancock, who is attempting to add the world title in the event to his 50m gold from 2009.
Other highlights should include the rematch between Michael Phelps and Germany's defending champion Paul Biedermann in the 200m freestyle, and the semi-finals in the women's equivalent event featuring Rebecca Adlington and Jo Jackson.
