As part of Radio 2's 1971 Week, Johnnie Walker speaks to Bob Harris about a new 16-part series celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Old Grey Whistle Test.

Each week on Radio 2, Bob will present a selection of archive performances plus new interviews with artists including Alice Cooper and Sir Elton John. As host of Whistle Test from 1971 until 1978, Harris' quiet delivery and smooth voice gave him the nickname "Whispering" Bob Harris.

Whistle Test 40 begins on Wednesday 24 August and will broadcast every week at 10pm. Also in Radio 2's 1971 Week, Smokey Robinson is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, whilst Sounds of the 20th Century reaches 1971.
