The Carling Cup welcomes Premier League teams into the draw for round two, resulting in some intriguing ties including Exeter v Liverpool and Everton v Sheffield United.
The Carling Cup welcomes Premier League teams into the draw for round two - those not involved in European competition - and the result is some intriguing ties. Liverpool, of course, missed out on Europe last season so they have to make the long journey south to take on Exeter. Everton are at home to Sheffield United, while Brighton and Hove Albion have drawn Premier League opposition to their new AMEX Stadium with Sunderland the visitors. Of the giant-killers from round one, three have drawn Premier League opposition: Shrewsbury take on Swansea, Macclesfield make the short trip to Bolton, while Northampton, who beat Ipswich in round one, welcome Wolves to Sixfields. Presented by Manish Bhasin.
