Joe Crowley presents the series revealing the potential that vacant properties can offer potential buyers. Joe meets Karl and Christina Yau, who took a leap of faith and bought a 19th-century chapel in Hampshire without planning permission.

Two years on, with permission finally granted, they are now beginning the delicate process of creating their dream home. Joe takes the first-time renovators to meet a couple who took on a similar renovation and created their perfect home from a ruined 16th-century barn.

Plus Joe looks into the do's and don'ts when applying for planning permission, and one of the UK's empty property officers is on a mission to bring abandoned homes on the south coast back into use.
