Joe Crowley meets 21 year old Michael Hims who is renovating a previously empty 1930s three bed semi which he bought with the help of his mum Fiona. Michael plans to create a high tech home and do the majority of the works himself - despite having no renovation experience. He has big ambitions, but a relatively small renovation budget.

Joe introduces Michael and his mum to a couple who undertook a similar project for some helpful advice.

Plus, a council who have found an innovative way to attract attention to the plight of a historical empty building, and we join one of the UK's empty property officers as he tracks down the owners of forgotten houses.
