Alastair McKee meets Acker Bilk, whose best-selling single Stranger on the Shore became the first ever UK record to reach number one in the USA fifty years ago.

The campaign to save the Bristol ice rink where Robin Cousins learnt to skate. Cousins went on to become the Olympic figure skating champion. The rink in Frogmore Street is due to close later this year, to be turned into student flats.

Plus Alastair McKee meets clarinet player Acker Bilk at his home in Somerset. It's fifty years since his iconic Stranger on the Shore became the first British record to reach number one in America. It was also the best-selling single of 1962 in the UK. At the age of 83, Acker Bilk is still performing the song today.
