Matt Baker introduces highlights of the men's European Championship, the final major event for these gymnasts before the Olympic Games. Beijing 2008 Olympic bronze medallist Louis Smith is the star name of the Great Britain team in Montpellier, which also includes British champion Daniel Purvis, Kristian Thomas, Max Whitlock and Ruslan Panteyleymonov - all of whom will be desperate to stake a persuasive claim to make the London 2012 team.

This team event in southern France also comprises six individual apparatus finals, with a host of other world-class athletes battling for medals and Olympic squad places.
