Extended edition of the topical comedy show in which Russell Howard offers up his unique perspective on the news stories that have dominated the media over the past seven days. In this Big News Special, Russell picks his favourite big news stories from all six series as well as some never seen before clips. In addition, he is joined by a mystery guest who has featured in the news, members of the audience are invited onto the 'People's Podium' and a special heartwarming tale sees the show out.

Since it debuted on 22nd October 2009, ratings have grown from 1.7 million a week to 3.9 million a week. Russell has over two million fans on Facebook and is the third most searched for comedian on Google. The show has also reached the number one Twitter trending spot in the UK for episodes aired during both series three and four.
