Clare Teal presents music from Benny Goodman and some of his famous sidemen who appeared alongside him in his ground-breaking concert at Carnegie Hall on 16th January 1938. In his own band at the time were trumpeters Ziggy Elman and Harry James, drummer Gene Krupa and pianist Jess Stacy. Benny was also joined by members of the Duke Ellington Orchestra; Cootie Williams and Johnny Hodges and the Count Basie Orchestra including the Count himself and legendary tenor sax player Lester Young.
