Gethin Jones is in Afghanistan, reflecting upon the duty and dedication of the troops currently serving on the frontline and sharing the heroic war stories from individuals who have fought in past conflicts around the world.
This episode includes the remarkable story of Gena Turgel, who not only survived three concentration camps during the Holocaust, but also emerged from a gas chamber at Auschwitz alive. We meet former Royal Marine Ben McBean, who in the past four years has conquered Everest, run the marathon - twice - and completed the Three Peaks Challenge, all since sustaining life-changing injuries in Afghanistan. Gethin finds out what life is really like in a check point in Afghanistan.
