The Brannings are a family in crisis, and Dot attempts to pull them back together. However, she starts to wish she had never returned when she discovers some home truths.

Whilst cleaning, Dot finds boxer shorts down the sofa and chastises Cora for the mess. Having promised Jim to look after his family, Dot announces to Max and Tanya she wants a family meal. Tanya suggests the Vic – on Max. Lauren makes her escape, avoiding Dot. Dot tells Tanya she found Lauren with a mystery man on her sofa. Max demands Lauren grow up and pick a college course. The Brannings gather for dinner. Max claims Joey was busy. Dot discovers Cora’s taken her job and Jack is engaged to Sharon. She’s shocked when Kirsty introduces herself, then Joey arrives - Lauren’s mystery man is her cousin! Lauren’s mortified. Upset, Dot flees. Cora follows but, at home, Dot insists that Cora get out.

Tanya ignores Lauren’s requests that she rearrange her hospital appointment. Ray questions Max about Kirsty – Max says ‘go for it’ but warns she’s high maintenance. During dinner at the Vic, Kirsty introduces herself to Dot as Max’s wife and pointedly wonders how Oscar is after his bike accident. Tanya’s furious Max involved Oscar in his lies. Later, Max tries to reassure Tanya, insisting he told Ray to go for it with Kirsty.

Ayesha’s embarrassed by Masood’s rejection and asks Zainab to arrange for Rashid to come for tea. Denise and Zainab offer conflicting relationship guidance with Denise advising to look for hidden meaning. Ayesha asks for Masood’s input.

Kim invites Ray over and persists in texting him. Ray wants Denise to stop Kim making a fool of her herself. In the Vic, Kim’s hurt to see Ray flirting with Kirsty but refuses Denise’s sympathy. Ian offers to let Denise stay for longer.

Fatboy brings Poppy flowers; Dot assumes they’re for her. When Poppy worries Dot doesn’t like her, Fatboy helps win Dot over with a badly made Battenberg cake.
