Episode 38 of 45

Chefs compete to cook at a banquet to celebrate 25 years of Red Nose Day. The Welsh chefs prepare their main course. Which one will get the top score from Jeremy Lee?

Great British Menu continues as 24 of the nation's finest chefs battle it out to cook gastronomic masterpieces that are also witty and fun. Their dishes have to put a smile on faces as they compete for the prize of cooking a dish at a special banquet at the Royal Albert Hall celebrating 25 years of Comic Relief's Red Nose Day appeals.

Returning contender and Michelin star chef Richard Davies is hoping it will be third time lucky - he has never got through to the Friday judges before. But he is up against experienced Mary Ann Gilchrist and young gun 19-year-old Luke Thomas who both hope to stop him. All three chefs believe they have devised dishes that are gastronomic, witty and fun - dishes they hope will take them all the way to the banquet.

As well as cooking their hearts out in the kitchen they will complete challenges to raise money for Comic Relief. One of the chefs is joined by comedian Helen Lederer in their fundraising endeavours.

Great British Menu veteran Jeremy Lee returns to judge the chefs during the week and decides which two will go through to the judges. This time actress and writer Emma Kennedy will join Prue Leith, Oliver Peyton and Matthew Fort, as a guest judge - together they will decide which chef goes through to the national final.

The Welsh chefs prepare their main course, but will any of them impress veteran Jeremy Lee enough to give them a top score? Richard Davies's dish is simply called A Tasting of Pork, Mary Ann Gilchrist's Three's a Crowd doesn't give much away, while Luke Thomas's dish is called Beef, Bone Marrow and Watercress.
