From this week excessive charges for using a credit or debit card will be outlawed. 'Excessive' meaning more than the actual cost to the vendor of accepting that payment method. That cost, subject to some argument this week, is probably 20p-50p for a debit card and around 2% or 2.5% for a credit card.
